What changed in this version · 이번 버전에서 달라진 것

Update, October 13, 2026 (privacy notice 2026-10-05.privacy-v6): the transfer of your text to the United States no longer needs a separate overseas-transfer consent. It is processing COMMIT entrusts to provide the features you use, and for students in Korea it is made on the basis of the disclosure below (PIPA art. 28-8(1)(3)). AI processing is now the one choice the four features need. A transfer consent you gave earlier stays in your history and changes nothing.

2026년 10월 13일 갱신(개인정보 안내 2026-10-05.privacy-v6): 텍스트를 미국으로 보내는 데 국외 이전 별도 동의가 더 이상 필요하지 않습니다. 사용하는 기능을 제공하기 위해 COMMIT이 위탁하는 처리이며, 대한민국 거주자의 경우 아래 고지를 근거로 이루어집니다(개인정보 보호법 제28조의8 제1항 제3호). 네 가지 기능에 필요한 선택은 이제 AI 처리 하나입니다. 이전에 한 국외 이전 동의는 기록에 남을 뿐 달라지는 것은 없습니다.

The previous version of this page said COMMIT had no AI provider, no destination and no retention period, and that the whole path was switched off. That stopped being true on September 17, 2026, when the reference essay draft went live against a real provider outside Korea. A choice you make is only worth something if the page you read was accurate, so this version names the provider, the country, the exact items, the retention period and what refusing costs you — and both notice versions move up, which means an earlier choice is asked again rather than carried over.

What actually happens · 실제로 일어나는 일

Four features in COMMIT ask a model for something: the reference essay draft, essay assistance, activity rewriting, and Patrick. All four go to the same provider — Google Cloud's Vertex AI — in the same place, the United States. Nothing is sent until you use one of them. Opening a page, saving a school, writing an essay yourself, or ticking a checklist item sends nothing to the provider.

COMMIT에서 모델을 부르는 기능은 네 가지입니다 — 참고 에세이 초안, 에세이 도움, 활동 설명 다듬기, Patrick. 네 가지 모두 같은 제공업체(Google Cloud Vertex AI)로, 같은 장소(미국)로 갑니다. 그 기능을 쓰기 전에는 아무것도 전송되지 않습니다. 페이지를 열거나, 학교를 저장하거나, 에세이를 직접 쓰거나, 체크리스트를 표시하는 것으로는 제공업체로 나가는 것이 없습니다.

Before a request leaves, COMMIT checks that your AI processing choice is current, that you acknowledged your school's AI policy for that essay, and — if you attached your own past writing — that essay style material is granted too. Any one of those missing stops the request; it is not softened or partially sent. The draft path also scans the text for identity, contact, payment and medical details and refuses the whole request if it finds any, rather than sending a redacted version.

요청이 나가기 전에 COMMIT은 AI 처리 선택이 최신인지, 해당 에세이에 대해 학교의 AI 정책을 확인했는지, 본인이 쓴 과거 글을 첨부했다면 에세이 문체 자료에도 동의했는지를 확인합니다. 하나라도 없으면 요청은 나가지 않습니다. 완화하거나 일부만 보내지 않습니다. 초안 경로는 추가로 신분·연락처·결제·의료 정보를 검사하고 하나라도 발견되면 가린 채 보내는 대신 요청 전체를 거부합니다.

One choice · 하나의 선택

AI processing is the one choice the four features need. Before October 13, 2026 they also needed a separate overseas-transfer choice; that is now covered by the disclosure below instead. Research, marketing, analytics, session replay and extension telemetry cannot be bundled into AI processing — they have their own choices in the privacy notice. A missing, denied, expired or withdrawn choice fails closed.

네 가지 기능에 필요한 선택은 AI 처리 하나입니다. 2026년 10월 13일 전에는 별도의 국외 이전 선택도 필요했지만, 이제는 아래 고지가 그 역할을 합니다. 연구, 마케팅, 분석, 세션 재생, 확장 프로그램 원격 측정은 AI 처리에 묶을 수 없으며 개인정보 안내에 각자의 선택이 있습니다. 선택이 없거나 거부·만료·철회된 경우 기능은 차단됩니다.

You can see the choice, and every time you changed it, in Settings → Privacy, and change it there, in Settings → Patrick, or in the privacy choices panel, which the footer of the public site opens.

선택과 변경한 시점은 설정 → 개인정보에서 확인할 수 있으며, 같은 화면이나 설정 → Patrick, 공개 사이트 푸터에서 여는 개인정보 선택 패널에서 바꿀 수 있습니다.

Korean overseas-transfer disclosure · 한국 국외 이전 고지

Korean law lets a transfer abroad that is needed to provide the service rest on a disclosure instead of a separate consent, provided the notice names the recipient, the destination, the items, the purpose, the method, the retention period, and how to refuse and what that costs (PIPA art. 28-8(1)(3) and (2)). Those are the rows below. You can refuse by leaving AI processing off or withdrawing it, and refusing is not a reason for COMMIT to close your account.

한국 개인정보 보호법은 서비스 제공에 필요한 국외 이전을 별도 동의 대신 고지로 할 수 있게 하며, 이때 고지에 수령자·이전 국가·이전 항목·이용 목적·이전 방법·보유 기간과 거부 방법 및 그 결과를 밝히도록 요구합니다(제28조의8 제1항 제3호, 제2항). 아래 표가 그것입니다. AI 처리를 켜지 않거나 철회하는 것으로 거부할 수 있으며, 거부를 이유로 COMMIT이 계정을 해지하지 않습니다.

Processor/provider · 수령자

Google LLC, through Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini models). No other AI provider receives anything. / Google LLC(Google Cloud Vertex AI, Gemini 모델). 그 밖의 AI 제공업체로 전달되는 것은 없습니다.

Destination country · 이전 국가

The United States. Requests go to Vertex AI's us multi-region endpoint, which Google documents as keeping machine-learning processing of customer data inside that jurisdictional boundary. COMMIT does not use the global endpoint, which gives no residency guarantee, and its code refuses to build a provider at all if it is pointed anywhere outside the United States — the AI features go unavailable rather than quietly processing somewhere this notice does not name. / 미국. 요청은 Vertex AI의 us 멀티리전 엔드포인트로 갑니다. Data categories · 이전 항목

For a reference essay draft: the essay prompt you are answering, the word limit, the direction you picked, the fact sentences you marked usable, and — only if you turned it on — your own past writing as style material. No account identifier, name, email, or contact detail is sent. For Patrick: your messages and the context attached to them — the titles of your own COMMIT pages you sent from, and, in the onboarding conversation, what you have already told Patrick, which can include your name and contact. / 참고 에세이 초안의 경우: 답변 중인 에세이 프롬프트, 단어 수 제한, 선택한 방향, 사용 가능으로 표시한 사실 문장, 그리고 켠 경우에 한해 본인이 쓴 과거 글(문체 자료). 계정 식별자·이름·이메일·연락처는 보내지 않습니다. Purpose · 이용 목적

Producing the output you asked for, and nothing else. Not advertising, not profiling, and not training or tuning models — Google's terms for this path exclude the logged text from model training. / 요청한 결과물 생성에 한정합니다. 광고·프로파일링에 쓰지 않고, 모델 학습·미세조정에도 쓰지 않습니다. 이 경로에 적용되는 Google 약관은 기록된 텍스트를 모델 학습에서 제외합니다.

Transfer method · 이전 방법

One TLS-encrypted HTTPS request at the moment you ask for the feature, and the reply. There is no batch export, no scheduled feed, and nothing is sent in the background. / 해당 기능을 요청하는 시점에 TLS로 암호화된 HTTPS 요청 1회와 그 응답. 일괄 내보내기나 정기 전송은 없으며 백그라운드에서 전송되는 것도 없습니다.

Retention · 보유 기간

Google keeps the prompt and the reply for up to 90 days for abuse monitoring on the standard Gemini path (confirmed 2026-09-17) and does not train on them. COMMIT stores none of the text: what it keeps is a SHA-256 of each fact sentence you marked usable and a log of which suggestions you accepted or rejected. / Google은 표준 Gemini 경로의 남용 탐지를 위해 프롬프트와 응답을 최대 90일 보관하며(2026-09-17 확인) 학습에는 사용하지 않습니다. COMMIT은 본문을 저장하지 않습니다. 남기는 것은 사용 가능으로 표시한 각 사실 문장의 SHA-256과 어떤 제안을 수락·거절했는지의 기록뿐입니다.

Deletion · 삭제

Withdrawing queues a provider deletion job the moment you save it. There is no per-person copy at Google to delete: what remains is abuse-monitoring logging that ages out at 90 days. Refusal and its consequence · 거부권과 그 결과

You may refuse, and you may withdraw later; neither costs you your account. Refusing turns off four things — the reference essay draft, essay assistance, activity rewriting, and Patrick's answers. Everything else keeps working: your school list, deadlines, checklists, essays you write yourself, the profile, family sharing, and settings. Withdrawing stops every AI feature immediately and does not close your workspace or delete your work. / 거부할 수 있고 나중에 철회할 수도 있으며, 어느 쪽도 계정을 잃게 하지 않습니다. 거부하면 네 가지가 꺼집니다 — 참고 에세이 초안, 에세이 도움, 활동 설명 다듬기, Patrick의 답변. 그 밖의 기능은 그대로입니다: 학교 목록, 마감일, 체크리스트, 직접 쓴 에세이, 프로필, 가족 공유, 설정. 철회하면 모든 AI 기능이 즉시 중단되며, 작업 공간이 닫히거나 작업물이 삭제되지는 않습니다.

Your own past writing · 본인이 쓴 과거 글

The reference draft can match your voice if you give it samples of your own writing. That is a third, separate choice — essay style material — and it is off until you turn it on. When it is on, the samples you selected are sent with that one draft request as voice material only: the model is instructed to take no fact from them and to copy no sentence or distinctive phrase. COMMIT does not store the samples with the draft, and turning the choice off stops sending them.

참고 초안은 본인이 쓴 글의 샘플을 주면 그 문체에 맞춰 씁니다. 이는 세 번째 별도 선택(에세이 문체 자료)이며 켜기 전에는 꺼져 있습니다. 켜 두면 선택한 샘플이 해당 초안 요청 1회에 문체 자료로만 함께 전송됩니다. 모델에는 샘플에서 사실을 가져오지 말 것과 문장이나 특징적인 표현을 그대로 옮기지 말 것이 지시됩니다. COMMIT은 샘플을 초안과 함께 저장하지 않으며, 선택을 끄면 전송이 중단됩니다.

Withdrawal · 철회

Withdrawing takes effect when you save it: the purpose becomes ineligible immediately, the next AI request is refused rather than queued, and a provider deletion job is created. What that job can reach is limited by what exists — there is no per-person store at the provider, only the abuse-monitoring logging that expires at 90 days — and COMMIT says so rather than promising an erasure it cannot perform. Your record of having withdrawn is kept; that record is the evidence that you did.

철회는 저장하는 즉시 적용됩니다. 해당 목적은 곧바로 사용 불가가 되고, 다음 AI 요청은 대기가 아니라 거부되며, 제공업체 삭제 작업이 생성됩니다. 그 작업이 닿을 수 있는 범위는 실제로 존재하는 것에 한정됩니다 — 제공업체에는 개인 단위 저장소가 없고 90일이 지나면 소멸하는 남용 탐지 로그만 있습니다. COMMIT은 수행할 수 없는 삭제를 약속하는 대신 그렇게 밝힙니다. 철회했다는 기록은 남습니다. 그 기록이 철회의 증거입니다.

Withdrawing stops the sending. It does not close your account, your workspace, or anything you have written in COMMIT — those are yours and they stay. You can grant again later, and the four AI features start working again from that moment.

철회는 전송을 멈추는 것입니다. 계정이나 작업 공간, COMMIT에 써 둔 내용이 닫히거나 사라지지 않습니다. 그것은 이용자의 것이고 그대로 남습니다. 나중에 다시 동의할 수 있으며, 그 시점부터 네 가지 AI 기능이 다시 동작합니다.

What is not settled · 아직 확정되지 않은 것

COMMIT has not accepted Google Cloud's data processing terms for this project. As of September 17, 2026 they are pending acceptance, so the transfer described here runs without a concluded processing agreement with the provider. This notice states that rather than implying otherwise, and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer: it describes what the product does and claims no approval.
